ABOUT US

The City of Richmond and our generous sponsors, including presenting sponsor, Lansdowne Centre are pleased to announce that the 10th Annual Children’s Arts Festival will take place at the Richmond Cultural Centre from February 12th to 16th, 2018. Located in the heart of City centre, the Richmond Cultural Centre will transform into a vibrant, colourful atmosphere with interactive workshops, activities and events tailored for children ages 3 to 12.

While February 13th – 16th is designated for local schools, the public is invited to join in on the fun on B.C.’s Family Day Holiday, February 12th, 2018!  Building on 9 years of growth and success, children and their families are encouraged to spark their imagination through music, visual, literary and performing arts lead by professional artists.

Message from Artistic Director

As Olivia the Pig would say, “Dream Big!” 10 years ago we did exactly that. Never in our wildest imagination did we think we would have the privilege to grow a tiny idea into a week-long event that would reach more than 90,000 children and families, but here we are and we are overjoyed to welcome you to the tenth Children’s Arts Festival.

Join us as we celebrate this milestone by dancing the day away with the Big Easy Funk Ensemble, getting down with the Blues Berries, being amazed with the ever-popular Magic 2 Go, getting your sillies out with Tickle Me Pickle and creating your way through the many kid-inspired Imagination Stations.

It has been said “everyone deserves a standing ovation once in his or her lives.” This is our standing ovation to you, our tireless champions, teachers, artists, volunteers, generous sponsors—including our presenting sponsor, Lansdowne Centre—and our guests who believe, embrace and champion the arts. You come back year after year to celebrate creativity, imagination and family and for that we are truly grateful.

On behalf of the Children’s Arts Festival team, it is my humble honour to thank you for making our dream come true.
