ABOUT US

The City of Richmond and our generous sponsors, including presenting sponsor, Lansdowne Centre are pleased to announce that the 8th Annual Children’s Arts Festival will take place at the Richmond Cultural Centre from February 8 to 12, 2016. Located in the heart of City centre, the Richmond Cultural Centre will transform into a vibrant, colorful atmosphere with interactive workshops, activities and events tailored for children ages 3 to 12.

While February 9-12 is designated for local schools, the public is invited to join in on the fun on B.C.’s Family Day Holiday, February 8, 2016. Building on 7 years of growth and success, children and their families are encouraged to spark their imagination through music, visual, literary and performing arts lead by professional artists.

Message from Artistic Director

When asked what he wanted to do when he grew up Harry Potter replied “make magic”. This statement could not hold more truth when it comes to the Children’s Arts Festival. As a team, it is our wish for the 1,000s of children and their families who attend this event to do nothing more than tap into their most powerful learning tool: their imagination.

We invite you to create your way down the Art Alley, to dance and sing through the Sonic Garden, to be inspired when you enter Once Upon a Time and to let your inner artist break free in the Imagination Playground.

None of these creative experiences would be possible without the hundreds of champions that we are so fortunate to have supporting us. A special thank you to all our generous sponsors, including presenting sponsor, Lansdowne Centre. To our volunteers who spend countless hours preparing for this week – thank you for your dedication and support, we could not pull this event off without you.

On behalf of the Children’s Arts Festival Team, it is my humble honour to welcome all of you to the 2016 Children’s Arts Festival. We truly hope your day is filled with laughter, literacy, creativity and magic.
